I appreciate the support, but I didn't want to leave anyone with the false impression that I had abandoned the debate just because I hadn't responded to the list in the past 22 hours or so.  Although I do consider some of the counter-arguments as  FUD and/or deliberately obtuse, I've actually tried to be responsive to all questions and comments on the list since joining. For better or worse I'm in for penny, in for a pound.

I've been in standards development for awhile... I'm not that easily discouraged ;-)
