I think this is a legitimate concern.  The current prevailing
perspective is from the domain owner and not the email-address
end-user.

If a domain, like a large email service provider, adopts a restrictive
SSP, it can have a negative effect on the reliability of delivery for
its users that use their email address in (legitimate) scenarios that
do not solely route through the email service provider.
